Resurrecting A Lost Cause

Lying in a dark corner of my Model Engineering Club’s carriage shed was an abandoned 5″ gauge driving / passenger truck.  Enquiries elicited the response ‘If you want it, have it, but it doesn’t run and it tips you off at the points.”  Dismantling it, the upper works were only fit for the scrap bin, but the bogies and underframe were worth putting on life support.

Measuring it up showed that it could be made into a fair representation of an LMS 42’ Utility Van and thus the project was born.  The following sequence of photographs illustrate the resurrection.
